Andy Laszlo

Managing Director, SunTrust Robinson Humphrey

Mr. Laszlo is currently a Managing Director at SunTrust Robinson Humphrey where he serves as the firm's Head of Technology, Media & Telecom Equity Capital Markets.  Prior to that, Mr. Laszlo spent approximately four years as a Managing Director and Head of Corporate Underwriting and Head of Business Development at Lazard Capital Markets (“LCM”).  Immediately prior to LCM, Mr. Laszlo spent two years as internal advisor to Medallion Financial Corp. (Nasdaq: TAXI) and to Sports Properties Acquisition Corp. (AMEX: HMR).  Sports Properties Acquisition Corp was a $200 million publicly traded special purpose acquisition company (“SPAC”) focused on the sports, leisure and entertainment sectors.  The company's principals included the Hon. Jack Kemp, Governor Mario Cuomo and Hall of Famer Hank Aaron.  In his advisory capacity, Mr. Laszlo evaluated over 125 potential acquisitions for the SPAC in sectors ranging from professional sports teams, facilities management companies, consumer product companies to talent agencies.  For the 11 years prior to that, Mr. Laszlo held various senior equity capital markets positions at Lehman Brothers and Bank of America.  Mr. Laszlo was Head of Media & Telecom equity capital markets for Bank of America based in New York, NY.  While at Bank of America, he led many transactions including IPOs, follow-ons, convertibles and the firm's first two SPAC IPOs as well as the firm's then largest-ever IPO of Metro PCS ($1.3bil).  Prior to that, Mr. Laszlo was Head of Equity Syndicate and Head of Media & Telecom Equity Capital Markets at Lehman Brothers International (Europe) during which time he was based in London, England.  In total, Mr. Laszlo has played a role in over $25 billion of equity issuance over the course of his career.  Finally, Mr. Laszlo briefly served as Chief Operating Officer and Head of Business Development for a $300 million multi-strategy hedge fund in New York city.

Mr. Laszlo sits on the Board of RLJ Entertainment (Nasdaq: RLJE), led by Robert L. Johnson, founder of BET, on which he serves as Chairman of the Audit Committee.  He also currently sits on the Board of Rita’s Water Ice Franchise Company where serves on the audit committee.  Finally, he is a member of the Advisory Board of Falconhead Capital Management.  Mr. Laszlo was formerly on the Board of Radar Detection Holdings Corp. (Escort Radar), one of Falconhead's portfolio companies, until the company was sold in late 2013.  Mr. Laszlo has been a featured presenter at the annual SPAC conference sponsored by DeaFlow Media.  He also regularly guest lectures at Duke University's "Duke in New York" program on corporate finance topics.

Mr. Laszlo began his career as an attorney with Rawle & Henderson, the nation's oldest law firm which is based in Philadelphia, PA.  His concentration was in product liability and securities litigation and he represented numerous Fortune 500 clients in both state and federal trials.

Mr. Laszlo holds a BS from Duke University, a JD from the University of Notre Dame Law School and an MBA from the Wharton School of the University of Pennsylvania.
